Slade wants back to basics

Sun 03 Feb, 05:33 PM

Yeovil boss Russell Slade pleaded with his side to get the basics right after poor finishing saw them slip up 2-0 at home to Huddersfield. The result leaves the Glovers still searching for their first win of 2008.

Luke Beckett opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Terry Skiverton had handled in the box before the experienced striker set up Michael Collins for the second.

And Slade said: "We should have scored early on. We had three good chances but then we conceded a penalty which my lads are very unhappy about and that hit us a bit.

"We have got to get back to playing like we were last season. I know people like to see 4-4-2 with wingers but perhaps we have to go back to digging in and making sure we don't lose a game."
