Manager Mark Stimson launched a scathing attack on departed defender Craig Armstrong after Gillingham were held to a draw by Cheltenham.Armstrong - a former Cheltenham player - left Priestfield after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent on Thursday night, and then told a local paper in Gloucestershire that he hoped the Robins beat Gillingham on Saturday while questioning Stimson's man-management skills.
Debutant Simeon Jackson missed a host of chances as the Gills drew a blank for the fourth time in five games - and the third home game in a row.
"I am very disappointed about what Craig has said in the press," Stimson said. "If he has got something to say then don't talk to the press - come and talk to me about it.
"I have heard a lot of things going around - like he said he wanted Cheltenham to beat Gillingham, but what goes around comes around.
"I knew it was going to be a tough game with both sides needing the points and I understand the supporters' frustration and boos at the end."
