Farewell, David Rozehnal. The departing Czech vacates a central midfield position that would seem to have Joey Barton's name on it. Middlesbrough have injury doubts over David Wheater, Robert Huth, Emanuel Pogatetz and Fabio Rochemback. Record signing Afonso Alves could make his debut from the bench but is unlikely to start.

Fulham v Aston Villa (4pm)

New signings Paul Stalteri and Jari Litmanen could both feature for Fulham, although the Finnish legend is most likely to make his presence felt from the bench. Ashley Young misses his first game of the season through suspension, clearing the way for Wayne Routledge to make an immediate debut.
