Jimmy White was knocked out of qualifying for the China Open after losing 5-4 to China's Xiao Guodong in Prestatyn.
The six-times World Championship finalist led his 20-year-old opponent 3-1 and 4-3, but lost the last two frames of the match to miss out on a third qualifying round match against Mark Davis.
There was more success for Maltese legend Tony Drago, however, who came through his second qualifying match comfortably with a 5-2 victory over former world champion John Parrott.
And Thailand's James Wattana is also still in the mix after a 5-0 win over Joe Delaney.
Tom Ford was in blistering form in his 5-0 thrashing of Michael White, but was disappointed to miss out on a 147 after a kick on the final red robbed him of his chance to record a maximum.

Hi,just a quick line to endorse the above opinion.Like John,I too have been playing many years( I'm now 56)I have managed to accumulate only 3 50+ breaks (ie. 54,54 and 54)!!!!!!
I love this game, but it does get a bit frustrating, and I could'nt agree more with John, the pros of today are amazingly consistent high break-builders.
But to all budding stars of the future,remember-you only get out of a sportwhat you put in!
Practice hard, play fair We're the most honest sport of all sports-because we call our own fouls, can you imagine how good football would get, living by our code of practice.DaveTheWad
Hi I like to watch all these great players,i used to play snooker and as anyone who has tried to play you realise how hard it is to be good at the game.
John
