Goergl fastest in Garmisch training
Austrian Elisabeth Goergl led the second and final training for the women's downhill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen this weekend.
Goergl descended in a time of a minute 47.01 seconds, 0.24s quicker than American Stacey Cook and Marie Marchand-Arvier who were tied for second spot.
Frenchwoman Marchand-Arvier led Thursday's opening training in Germany.
American star Lindsey Vonn, the dominant overall and downhill World Cup leader, was down in 18th while Slovenian Tina Maze - second overall - was 14th.
Vonn is looking for her 50th career win this weekend.
Maria Hoefl-Riesch, who took her first victory of the season in the super-combined in St Moritz last Sunday, was sixth on home snow - as she was on Thursday.
Tina Weirather, second in the downhill standings, was fifth behind Italian Daniela Merighetti.
The women's downhill is scheduled for Saturday with a Super-G on Sunday.
