Owain Fon Williams is poised to return to the Tranmere line-up when Les Parry's side travel to Wycombe.
Goalkeeper Williams has been sidelined since November with a broken hand and was due to come back in Monday's reserve game against Manchester City.
However a frozen pitch put paid to those plans, and Paul Rachubka's return to Leeds upon the expiry of his loan spell means Williams will be thrust straight into first-team action.
Andy Robinson (knee) and Enoch Showunmi (leg) returned to light training this week and could be in line to feature in attack as Adam McGurk injured his ankle after netting the equaliser in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield.
Joss Labadie is available for midfield duty after shaking off a foot problem, but defender David Raven remains a long-term absentee as he recuperates from a double hernia operation.
