Grayson focused on survival

Mon 03 Mar, 06:15 PM

Blackpool boss Simon Grayson insists he is more concerned about staving off the threat of relegation than a late charge towards the play-offs.The Seasiders have moved towards mid-table after impressive victories over Charlton and Norwich to move within seven points of the top six.

Despite the wide-open nature of the Championship this season, Grayson is remaining guarded about the prospect of finishing in the play-off places.

Grayson said: "Whenever anyone mentions top six to me, I say 'you've got to be joking' and I mean it.

"But because we are top half then I know one or two will be casting their eyes above.

"However, we'll make sure we get to safety first and if we finish where we are now at the end of the season then we will be more than happy."
