Rochdale manager Keith Hill has urged disgruntled supporters to stick by his side as they seek to improve on their dismal home form.Dale slumped to their fifth successive defeat at Spotland on Saturday as play-off rivals Chesterfield claimed a 1-0 win.

There were again murmurs of discontent among Rochdale followers as they voiced their frustration at yet another home loss.

However, Hill said: "I don't know where the goals and points are going to come from at home but the frustration from the crowd is not going to help anyone.

"We cannot let the frustrations of supporters affect what we are trying to do because we are a very good side and often have to play in very difficult conditions.

"We are young, though, and my job is to motivate and pick the players up."
