Oldham midfielder Jason Jarrett is battling to be passed fit for the home clash against Hartlepool after suffering an ankle injury in training.Latics boss John Sheridan did not want to risk the on-loan Preston man at Vale Park but he is expected to be passed fit for action against Pools.

Craig Davies remains sidelined with a hamstring strain along with fellow frontman Lee Hughes (groin), midfielder JP Kalala (ankle and knee) and defender John Thompson (knee).

However, Hughes, Kalala and Thompson could all feature in Wednesday's reserve-team game at Huddersfield, where skipper Sean Gregan is also set to play as he steps up his recovery from Achilles surgery.
