Johnson experience delights boss

Mon 03 Mar, 05:45 PM

Manager Ian McParland believes that Michael Johnson's experience will prove to be "vital" to Notts County in their bid to stave off relegation. The 34-year-old joined the club from Derby on loan until the end of the season on Friday, and made an impressive debut a day later as a substitute during the Magpies' draw at fellow strugglers Macclesfield.

McParland said: "He came off the bench and put in a fine display, and his experience is something which will be vital for us between now and the end of the season.

"We only really have two experienced players in Kevin Pilkington and Jason Lee, so Michael really does add something.

"Michael has been around for a long time and he knows the game inside-out. He has a bit about him and he is a confident lad with a good personality."
