West Ham defender George McCartney is expecting maximum effort from his team-mates when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Wednesday.The left-back is looking for a response from the team after the 4-0 home drubbing against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

"We have got to forget about Chelsea and move on to Liverpool," McCartney told the club's official website.

"It is not going to be easy at Anfield, they are under a bit of pressure themselves and will be up for the game and looking to take three points.

"It has been a long season and we have got eleven [games] left. We have got to try and take as many points as we can. We want to try and get into Europe."
