Crystal Palace have begun talks with striker Clinton Morrison to keep the experienced frontman at Selhurst Park. The 28-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, but Palace boss Neil Warnock has until now refused to discuss the issue.
"Clinton has worked very hard and he's impressed me," Warnock told the South London Press. "We're speaking to his people but nothing has been decided yet. I'm hopeful we'll be able to come to an agreement."
Morrison, in his second spell at Palace, scored his 111th goal for the club as the Eagles saw off Preston 1-0 at the weekend.
The striker said: "I'm happy. I can't go anywhere anyway so it doesn't matter. We'll wait to the end of the season and see where we are and take it from there."
Palace are also in talks with striker Dougie Freedman, with Shefki Kuqi placed on the transfer list following his gestures to the crowd in the defeat by Wolves.
