Rotherham manager Mark Robins has heaped praise on Joe Widdowson after the on-loan defender made his Millers debut against Accrington.Robins claimed the performance of the 19-year-old, who is on loan from West Ham, was the only positive he could take from what he has described as an 'embarrassing' display in the 1-0 home defeat to Stanley.

"I thought Joe did very well on his first appearance," said Robins. "He gave us a solid first half certainly and might have got forward a little more in the second half.

"But on his debut he defended well and was comfortable on the ball."
