De Luca sprained his right ankle during Edinburgh's Magners League draw with Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade at the weekend.

Scotland doctor James Robson said: "The injury is not as bad as first feared but Nick is unavailable for selection for this weekend.

"He will continue his rehabilitation under the care of the Edinburgh medical staff."

Lock forwards Nathan Hines and Scott MacLeod were also unable to train today with knee and shoulder injuries respectively.

"Nathan is not taking any part in training today but he should be able to return tomorrow," Robson continued.

"Scott is still receiving treatment from the injury he sustained against Ireland and further discussions will take place tonight and tomorrow to determine whether he is available for selection."

Two locks have been added to the training squad: Scotland's most capped player, Scott Murray, and Edinburgh's Craig Hamilton.
