Manager Lee Richardson believes Chesterfield may have to win all five of their remaining matches to clinch a League Two play-off spot. The Spireites have been in the promotion mix all season but were usurped in the top seven by Rochdale, who have two games in hand over the Derbyshire club, in midweek after Keith Hill's side beat Bradford.
However, Richardson insists there are still many twists and turns to come before the end of the campaign.
Ahead of Saturday's home clash against Shrewsbury, he said: "Obviously, we need as many wins as possible. It may be that we need to win all five games.
"But there are so many ifs and buts and there is a lot of football to be played yet. Some of the other teams have tricky run-ins and have to play each other. All we can do is focus on each game as it comes."
