Influential Ipswich captain Jason de Vos has been offered a new one-year contract by the Championship outfit. The 34-year-old defender had intended to return to his native Canada at the end of the season but a series of impressive performances has prompted Town boss Jim Magilton to persuade him to stay.
Magilton told the club's official website: "I've spoken with Jason and we have offered him a new contract.
"He's been terrific for us this season but at the moment he wants to concentrate on the rest of the season.
"He is fully focussed on the remaining six games of the season and getting this club into the play-offs and doesn't want anything to get in the way of that.
"He has said he will make a decision as soon as the season is over and that is fine by me."
