Northampton winger Jonathan Hayes has denied that Stuart Gray's side have lost momentum after achieving safety in League One.The Cobblers' slim play-off chances have all but disappeared after a disappointing run of just one point from nine but Hayes insists his players have not switched off after reaching mid-table.
He said: "That's a bit unfair because nobody at this club ever contemplated relegation.
"Since I've been here the word 'relegation' hasn't been mentioned once and we never look down.
"When we look at the table we're only looking at who's above us and who we can catch, we've never been concerned by the teams below us. I've never seen Northampton as a relegation-threatened club."
