Gary Johnson has heaped praise on Bristol City goalkeeper Adriano Basso after the Brazilian was voted the PFA player of the month for March.City boss Johnson has been delighted with the form of his keeper and insists the 32-year-old is a worthy winner of the award.

"He deserves it. Although, it looks like we have been under pressure for the whole month because our keeper has won the award," said Johnson.

"Seriously though, what Adriano has had to do he has done very well. He even makes the not-so-easy saves look comfortable. He has made some really good saves along the way so credit to him.

"He deserves all the accolades he gets because he has had a fantastic couple of seasons."
