Peterborough director of football Barry Fry has hailed Darren Ferguson after he was named the League Two Manager of the Month for March.Ferguson has guided Posh to the summit of League Two after a stunning run of 13 wins and three draws from their last 16 matches.

The London Road club won six of their eight games during a hectic March with only title rivals MK Dons and struggling Notts County able to prevent a 100 per cent record.

Bury, Barnet, Dagenham & Redbridge, Brentford, Chester and Lincoln were all overcome as Peterborough moved to within touching distance of securing promotion to League One.

Ferguson, son of Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, is in his first job in management having been handed the reins at Posh in January last year.

And Fry believes he is the man to take the club all the way to the Premier League.

Fry told Sky Sports News: "When he came for his interview for the job Darragh MacAnthony, our chairman, talked to him for an hour.

"He never mentioned his dad, he never mentioned money. All he talked about was football, football, football, and how they were going to achieve the ambition of getting Peterborough in the Premiership in five years' time."

Ferguson was selected for the award by Sky Sports expert pundit Chris Kamara ahead of MK Dons boss Paul Ince, Stockport manager Jim Gannon and Bury's Alan Knill.
