Southampton have been boosted by the news that Jason Euell's knee injury is not as bad as first feared. The former Wimbledon and Charlton midfielder fell awkwardly after blocking a shot towards the end of the 1-0 defeat at Cardiff last weekend.
It was initially feared that the Jamaican international could be ruled out for the rest of the season, but the injury now appears to be only minor medial-ligament damage.
Euell, 31, is unlikely to be fit to face Bristol City on Saturday but is expected back in training imminently and should play a role in the relegation run-in.
