Thu 03 Apr, 09:00 AM

Port Vale boss Lee Sinnott has told his players to expect a gruelling pre-season regime when they report back for next season at Vale Park.Sinnott, who initially doubled training sessions when he was appointed manager in November, and fitness coach Dave Barron are still working on plans for the club's preparations next season but the Vale boss has warned his side they can expect plenty of hard work when they report back on July 25.

"I will be looking forward to pre-season. That is not just me being nasty, it is to do with what is required," he told The Sentinel.

"To be successful you need discipline and that is what we will be looking at. I believe pre-season is a very important time and it will be hard work, without a shadow of a doubt.

"But it is hard work that will stand us in good stead in the future, both physically and mentally."
