Dean Windass has signed a new one-year deal at Hull that will bring the 39-year-old into line with the club's top earners.Windass, who still had a year to run on a two-year deal, is rewarded for his part in Hull's successful campaign so far with a new and improved contract that expires in June 2009.
The new deal includes the option, based on appearances, of a further one-year extension after the end of next season that could mean the Hull-born striker turning out for the Tigers at the ripe age of 41.
Chairman Phil Duffen told the Hull Daily Mail: "It's quite possible that he's got a lot left in his tank."
"He has been out there on merit and has been keeping younger men on the bench by banging in the goals. As long as he is capable of performing then I am happy for him to be a key part in our future."
Windass, a former Bradford and Middlesbrough striker, has bagged 10 League goals in 26 starts this season for Hull, who currently sit in third position.
