Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist has admitted that the Light Blues failed to do themselves justice against Sporting in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals.
"It was very frustrating: we didn't play well at all," McCoist told ITV. "We were as poor with the ball as we have been for a long time.
"But it's a clean sheet and we are capable of going anywhere in Europe and scoring a goal, as we've proven.
"We know we can play a lot better, but not losing a goal at home in the first leg is a reasonable result."
McCoist felt tonight's disappointing display may have been a result of fatigue as Gers head towards the conclusion of a gruelling campaign.
"We are a better team than we showed tonight," he insisted. "But you have to cut the lads a little bit of slack.
"But tonight, in terms of possession, we were poor."
