Gibson could play against Argyle

Sat 03 May, 03:30 PM

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy is expected to be able to call on Darron Gibson for Sunday's end-of-season showdown at home to Plymouth Argyle. The on-loan Manchester United midfielder limped out of a testimonial for Darren Wrack at Walsall on Tuesday night with an ankle injury but it is not thought to be a serious problem.

Wanderers will be able to call on on-loan striker Kevin Kyle after he was forced to sit out last week's Championship clash with parent club Coventry.

Stephen Ward stepped up his comeback from a knee problem with a second substitute appearance in a week and will hope for a recall to the starting line-up.

Midfielder David Edwards (knee) hopes to return while Karl Henry is back in training following a knee injury and may feature.

Seventh-placed Wanderers can still reach the play-offs if they win against the Pilgrims and results involving Crystal Palace or Watford go their way.

Kick-off at Molineux is at 2pm.
