Robert Green insists West Ham will be out to "put a spanner in the works" as they look to wreck Manchester United's Premier League title dream.Chelsea have been left less than impressed by recent comments in a newspaper column from Hammers boss Alan Curbishley, who felt it would be an injustice if United did not go on and win the championship - although at Thursday's press conference he insisted there would be "no gimmes" from his men on Saturday and defended the integrity of the competition as a whole.
Green was part of the Hammers side which secured a famous 1-0 victory at Old Trafford - courtesy of a goal by now United striker Carlos Tevez - to stay up on the final day of last season.
The England squad man would like nothing more than to "dampen the party" once again as United look to move clear of Chelsea, who do not play until Monday.
"Last season turned into a wonderful experience. Hopefully it will be a more pleasurable experience from the start this time when we haven't got so much riding on it," said Green.
"When we walked on to the pitch in the second half and for the whole of Old Trafford to be singing 'send them down', it was quite a motivation. It was enjoyable to dampen their party.
"This time we can go there, play football and hopefully give them a real challenge and a few things to think about."
Green declared: "We will be doing everything we can to put a spanner in the works.
"People will expect us to just roll over and get beat - but we have our own agenda and will make it as hard as possible."
West Ham certainly have enjoyed the upper hand over United in recent seasons - with Curbishley having won his last three encounters with good friend Sir Alex Ferguson, while heroics from keeper Ludek Miklosko at Upton Park famously denied United the title on the final day of the 1994/1995 campaign.
Green reflected: "They probably looked at the fixture and thought on paper it's not the toughest in the world - but I imagine they would want to be playing someone else.
"It is a game we are looking forward to massively and after making it to the Champions League final on Tuesday they are going to be feeling confident again and will be really focusing on the title."
Green, signed from Norwich for £2million in July 2006, has found himself linked with a move away from Upton Park, with Tottenham said to be tracking the England squad man.
However, the 28-year-old maintains he has no thoughts of a transfer, and believes the future is bright for the Hammers.
"It is just speculation and I don't know where it has all come from," Green insisted. "I have not heard anything from the club about the offer of a new contract or anyone interested in me.
"I am happy here. After I joined, it was a rollercoaster ride and this year has been a massive step in the right direction.
"People have moaned and groaned and said things, but if we continue to making steps like that, next season could be exciting."
Green has seen himself fall down the international pecking order, and was only called back into the last England squad following injuries to Scott Carson and Chris Kirkland.
The Hammers keeper does not expect to be involved in the forthcoming trip to the Caribbean as Fabio Capello continues his building plans for the 2010 World Cup - but has other more pressing matters to work towards as he is set to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa during June.
He said: "If I was not in the first squad and was only brought in when two of the three keepers pulled out, it is not that sort of form that guidance that you would expect if you were looking to get into the squad - but I will be
