Joe Pavelski's overtime goal brought the San Jose Sharks back from the brink of elimination with a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars.
The goal, 1:05 into overtime, capped a three-goal rally for the Sharks, who trailed 2-0 with six minutes remaining in a game they had to win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
"It's a pretty cool feeling scoring a goal like that," Pavelski said after narrowing Dallas's series lead to 3-2.
Game Six is in Dallas on Sunday.
Milan Michalek put San Jose on the scoreboard 6:20 into the third and Brian Campbell levelled at 2-2 about five minutes later.
Jere Lehtinen and Brenden Morrow scored the Dallas goals, both in the second period.
Morrow also lost two apparent goals after video review.
Officials ruled Morrow had kicked the puck into the net on the first and he had another goal reversed in the third period for pushing the puck into the net with a glove.
Evgeni Nabokov made 24 saves including 11 in the third period to claim the win.
Marty Turco stopped 19 shots for Dallas but Pavelski said the Sharks had told each other in the locker room after regulation that he might make a rare error.
"Turco's been playing great. He's gonna make a mistake sooner or later," Pavelski said.
