Experience counts for Brown

Hull boss Phil Brown has called on his senior players to pull the club away from relegation trouble.

The Tigers are facing a serious test of their mettle after slipping into trouble at the bottom of the Barclays Premier League on the back of a wretched run of form.

Top-flight football remains a new adventure for most of the Hull squad and Brown believes the situation calls for the steadiness of his experienced professionals.

Brown said: "The experience of Kevin Kilbane, George Boateng, Nick Barmby, who have been there and seen it and done it, that's priceless to the younger ones and even the older ones inexperienced at this level.

"But experience counts for a lot regardless of what division you have played in. Ian Ashbee plays a big part in that and Michael Turner is coming of age and getting better with every game.

"We are all experiencing what we are and the only way out of this through it. The situation calls for older heads to control the younger heads."
