Gudjon: We will be targeted next year

Sun 03 May, 02:45 PM

Crewe boss Gudjon Thordarson admits the Railwaymen will be a scalp for teams next season following their relegation from League One.

A 3-0 defeat to Leicester on the final day of the season condemned the Alex to their fate and the Icelandic boss knows that bouncing straight back will not be easy.

He told the club's official website: "Now we are relegated we have a really tough battle on our hands but we have to raise ourselves and tackle what is put in front of us.

He added: "We will be going to not so good stadiums and playing on not so good pitches and coming down we will probably be one of the favourites to go up so everyone will be wanting to beat Crewe.

"We have to be ready for the challenge and that will come with hard work and commitment."
