Colchester manager Geraint Williams has completed the signing of Matt Lockwood from Championship new-boys Nottingham Forest.The 31-year-old former Leyton Orient left-back has finally put pen to paper after Colchester agreed a fee with Forest two weeks ago.

Lockwood becomes Williams' second defensive capture of the summer, following Matt Heath's permanent switch from Leeds.

He signed for Forest from Orient last summer but managed just 12 appearances, and almost joined Colchester in January.
