Blackpool defender Kaspars Gorkss helped Latvia retain the Baltic Cup by scoring the opening goal in their 2-1 victory over Lithuania in Riga. The highly-rated centre-back netted in the 57th minute after connecting with a Juris Laizans corner.
Latvia went 2-0 ahead following a Vidas Alunderis own goal before Lithuania pulled a goal back through Ricardas Beniusis in the closing stages.
Gorkss' goal was his second for his country and would have further alerted Preston, Burnley, Norwich, Crystal Palace and Rangers, who are all said to be interested in acquiring his services this summer.
