We round-up all the rumours, gossip and tittle tattle from around the world of Formula One with Bernie Ecclestone considering taking the apparently cash-strapped sport to the silver screen.
Britain: The progression of Formula One from its origins all the way through to the present day could be set to hit the big screen at last with Ecclestone mulling over the idea of taking the sport to Hollywood. Pitpass claims that the commercial rights holder is in talks with a studio in the United States over a film which, although in the style of a documentary, will not essentially be a documentary. Make of that what you will.
Britain: Rival teams are preparing to engage in a bidding war for the services of current drivers' standings leader Jenson Button in 2010. The Briton, who even agreed to a significant pay cut in order to help keep Brawn GP afloat - reputedly sacrificing two-thirds of his £8 million-a-year salary - could be set to make £20m a season from next year. "There are going to be quite a few seats open next year, one team chief told the Daily Mirror, "and Jenson is going to be at the top of many people's lists: how could he not be after his performances in the last few races?"
Spain: Brawn's runaway success in 2009 is not a reason to change the lean team's approach to the World Championship, boss Ross Brawn insists. "I prefer to spend our money in the wind tunnel," he tells Marca. "That's more important for us than the number of wings we take to the races."
Germany: Mercedes-Benz may be moving closer to adding corporate branding to the cars of the championship-dominating team. The Brackley-based squad's use of the Stuttgart marque's engines this year is simply a customer deal, but the package has won five out of the six races so far this season, and is comfortably leading both the drivers' and constructors' championships. Moreover, Mercedes is increasingly vocal about the success of the collaboration, noting in the post-race press release of the McLaren team after Monaco that Jenson Button "won the last three grands prix (using) the same engine".
Switzerland: It sounds as if Max Mosley is unlikely to end F1's political conflict by surrendering to the existing teams' demands. The FIA president is quoted by Motorsport Aktuell: "We make the rules. We have done it for 60 years and we are going to continue to do it."
Poland: Should there be a future grand prix in Poland, the fans will decide where it will be held. Electronics firm LG is backing a campaign in the central European country to select a location. Polish fans, whose numbers have grown enormously since the debut of Poland's first F1 driver Robert Kubica in mid 2006, are being asked to select between the locations Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw and Gdynia for a circuit.
Britain: The F1 drivers' football team could attract almost as many fans as the race in Istanbul. The Nazionale Piloti face a Turkish all-star team in Istanbul's Ali Sami Yen stadium on Wednesday to raise money for children's charities. Organisers are expecting a big crowd at the 24,000-capacity ground, but the same cannot be said for the fifth running of the Turkish GP: only 40,000 attended Sunday's race last year, and a smaller crowd is expected this weekend at a circuit that is closed for 362 days of every year.
Switzerland: Iconic names March and Brabham could be set for a dramatic return to grand prix racing. Brabham, the winner of 35 grands prix and six World Championships - and owned by Ecclestone in the 70s and 80s - is now controlled by Franz Hilmer, who bought the assets of the now-defunct Super Aguri team last year. The Max Mosley-founded March Racing Organisation has meanwhile submitted an application to compete in the 2010 championship - almost two decades on from its last appearance in the top flight.
Italy: It is also being reported by Corriere della Sera that a secret group of Italians have lodged a 2010 entry.
Germany: Robert Kubica is as bitter as ever about his missed opportunity to win the 2008 title. The Pole was in the running for last year's title until late in the season, when he mysteriously fell off the pace after declaring that BMW had instead decided to focus on its 2009 campaign. But the failure of the Hinwil team's current title bid was starkly demonstrated last time out at Monaco, when Kubica and his team-mate Nick Heidfeld qualified a dire 18th and 17th respectively. "Situations like this are common in motor racing; you never know where you are going to be next year. That's why I was disappointed last year when we did not seize our chance when we were very close to the front," he tells Sport Bild.
Britain: Local residents have complained about the noise of Renault's recent straight-line testing near the Cambridgeshire village of Duxford. Recently the French team conducted two days of running at the site of the Imperial War Museum. The Cambridge News said a local councillor has arranged to meet with the venue's boss to discuss noise concerns next week. "I have some sympathy with people about the noise," says team manager Steve Nielsen. "We have eight of these days a year and three of them have been done outside the UK already."

Driver was awful. if you are going to make an F1 film do it properly!!!! No love interest, and no @#$% yanks overacting!!!
Any film won't be factual because with a US based film production company, a US driver is bound to be world champion!
Yes ironman8080 I quite agree and its not as if they would be doing it every day either.

one of snow whites body guards.
"Grand Prix", 1966, starring James Garner, with Yves Montand and a cast of real F1 drivers. Excellent race scenes (1966 race season IIRC as well) at real F1 courses.
Plus, the Ferrari factory. Add to that a OK storyline, and groundbreaking camera techniques, and you get a 1st rate movie.
"Winning" and Le Mans" come to mind as well.
I shudder to think what @#$% Bernie and Max would hoist on us.
Francis S; having fun today? kind of boring, no?

No, the face isn't much but you gotta love the hair. :)
you have to admit that it takes a huge set of balls(castrated ones) to look like bernie and yet put your mug out there for all the world to see. I doubt that his Mum would even love that face.
