Mears returns from L'OM adventure

Wed 03 Jun, 11:04 AM

Derby defender Tyrone Mears is set to return to Pride Park following his loan spell with Marseille.

The French club will not be exercising their option to sign the full-back, who has expressed his desire to leave the Championship club this summer.

Derby have received no offers for Mears, who has one year remaining on his contract.

Rams chairman of football Adam Pearson told the Evening Telegraph: "We are planning on him coming back to Derby County for pre-season.

"Tyrone is a player who we would sell if we got the right offer for him but we have heard nothing so far. We have had no interest in Tyrone at all at this moment in time."

Pearson added: "Giles Barnes is in the same boat after returning from his loan spell with Fulham and we have had no interest in him either."
