Mendes pledges future to Rangers

Pedro Mendes has revealed he would gladly sign a longer-term contract with Rangers.

The Portuguese midfielder only moved to Ibrox last summer on a three-year deal, but has fallen in love with the club and Glasgow.

Mendes, 30, told the Daily Record: "I have enjoyed everything about the club. I love the club, the city and the family have settled well so I am enjoying myself in Glasgow."

He added: "If the club comes to me and asks me to sign a long-term contract, I would talk with them and be willing to stay for a long time yet."

Meanwhile, Christian Dailly says he has loved every minute of his 16-month spell at Ibrox. The former Scotland defender, 35, left Rangers this week after his contract expired.

Dailly, who finished his career at the club on a high after helping them land a league and cup double, said in the Scottish Sun: "It was a great thing for me to come to Rangers. I had always wanted to try something like it.

"I had always been at clubs who weren't expected to win every week. But I have always been a player who does expect to win every week.

"I could never understand the underlying mentality at some clubs that you might not win.

"I felt that we should be looking to win every single game.

"The great thing about being at Rangers was it felt so natural for me to play and expect to win. It was a brilliant experience and an amazing place to play football."

Hi David I could not agree more, our last 6 home games­ were shocking...I like u fear big time for The SPL and­ the teams, however I would defo prefer to be in Celtics­ position in regards to money and squad....thank @#$% a­ Rangers fan has answered a question truthfully and not­ just came on here and spouted bile or talked­ nonsense....

    scottish football is going down the drain due­ to lack of money and its going to get worse

    that's­ why your tic team are in the papers because at the­ moment your in turmoil you cant buy players you cant­ sell you basically cant do anything till you get a­ manager ......?

    anyway I am happy we have one the spl­ for the 1st time in four years
    last season was great­ with a run in europe.... right to a final and narrowly­ missing the spl title and then this year
    we won the­ double and stopped the tic getting 4 in a row !!!!! ­ yeah am happy

  16. if i was u lot, i would be concentrating on your own­ team, its clear celtic are in a worse state than­ rangers, so dont come on here saying only 3 rangers­ players would get in the celtic team. Celtic got beat­ by rangers fair and square, mendes scored a peach when­ we humped you 4 2 at parkhead, then scored another at­ tannadice as we won the leage and u couldnt even beat­ hearts at home! So take at a look at your own camp­ before trying to take the piss out of ours!
