Thu 03 Jul, 06:00 PM

Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Matt Bloomfield has committed his future to the Chairboys by agreeing a new two-year contract. The 24-year-old is the club's longest-serving player and is set to put pen to paper on the new deal by the end of the week.

He is likely to be out until the new year because of a knee ligament injury but is delighted to have sorted his future out.

He told the club's official website: "I'm happy to have signed and to get my future sorted so now I can concentrate on getting fit without worrying about contracts.

"The gaffer's been brilliant - he says he wants to get me fit, he's seen videos of me playing so he knows all about me.

"I never wanted to leave, I never asked for anything unreasonable and I just wanted to get it sorted."
