Dabo blast for 'coward' Barton

Former Manchester City star Ousmane Dabo has described Joey Barton as a "coward" and criticised Newcastle for lacking "ethics and morals".Barton was handed a four-month suspended jail sentence on Monday for attacking Frenchman Dabo when they were team-mates at Manchester City.

The 31-year-old said: "I almost lost an eye. It was a terrible day and although I was not traumatised, I wanted the trial to come round.

"There was no confrontation, as Barton pleaded guilty straight away, and I did not need to give evidence. That says a lot about me - it shows that my version of the truth is the truth. I am happy with the outcome.

"He admits he behaved in a cowardly way, and he is a coward. We met one another on Monday. He was in one corner and me in another. He did not talk to me or apologise, but it did not trouble me to see him again."

Barton is currently serving a six-month prison term for a separate assault last year, and Dabo hit out at the midfielder's club, Newcastle, for not sacking him.

The Magpies are due to hold talks with Barton next week, and Dabo - who is now playing in Italy with Lazio -said: "English clubs teach you lots of lessons, but in this case they truly lack ethics and morals.

"Newcastle have invested a lot in this guy and they do not want to lose a lot of money. The club does not care a damn about the law and it shocks me."

The courts have let us all down by giving this THUG a suspended sentence. He is in prison for one assault, commits another and the sentence is suspended, what a travesty. We have also been let down by Newcastle who should have sacked for the first offence. We have been let down by the PFA who should support their members, and I mean the majority not this THUG. And we have been let down by the FA/Premier League who should ban him sine die from the game. Forget his human rightslike he forgot the human rights of the people he assaulted in such a cowardly manner.

I absolutely agree!!! How many chances is this idiot going to be given? He has had too many now if you ask me. Sack him Newcastle and move on.

Bartons are a bunch of thugs. Newcastle will not lose anything but they will gain the respect of decent folks by sacking this thug and scum of the earth that obviously come from gutter parents as his murderous sibling. He must be allowed to grace our screens where normal people ply their trade in the beutiful sport of soccer.
