Gary Johnson is adamant his Bristol City side have banished the memory of losing out in the play-off final at the hands of Hull in May.Robins boss Johnson steered the club to within one game of reaching the Premier League, only to be beaten by a solitary Dean Windass strike.
Rather than dwell on what could have been, Johnson believes his players will use the disappointment of falling at the final hurdle as a major motivational tool ahead of the new season.
"I don't see what happened at Wembley in May being a problem. The lads have had their grieving time and they are over it," Johnson told the Bristol Evening Post.
"Of course it hurt at the time and the disappointment of losing to Hull was massive. But I'd expect that to be the case. It showed how much it meant to them.
"Most of them have been away on holiday since then and they've come back refreshed and ready to attack the new season."
