Ferdinand Focused On Hammers

Thu 03 Jul, 12:09 PM

Anton Ferdinand insists that he is unaware of any interest from clubs attempting to lure him away from West Ham.

The defender is believed to be a target for Aston Villa and Newcastle as sides begin to return to pre-season training.

However, Ferdinand, 23, is adamant that he will remain focused upon life at Upton Park until manager Alan Curbishley tells him otherwise.

"It's just speculation," Ferdinand told Sky Sports News while undertaking charity work in Africa.

"Until I get back to London I don't know what is going on.

"For me personally, until Alan Curbishley says I am not a West Ham player, then I will be a West Ham player. I love playing for the club."

  2. I hope Anton Ferdinand stays at West Ham for a few more years as I think he has got better for the past seasons and I know sometimes he makes mistakes which has cost us a couple of goals but so do every other players in the premiership no one is perfect. I cannot see the point of selling him and then we will have to buy another centre half anyway to replace him. Why not concentrate on getting Nicky Shorey from Reading as back up for Geogre McCartney and another decent right back to replace Lucas Neill if he goes to Galatasray or wherever. Please get rid of Luis Boa Morte he is a waste of space and keep Nolberto Solano because he is the best player we have at the club when it comes to Free kicks and he is deadly in that area. Also keep Bobby Zamora and Carlton Cole as back up for Ashton and Bellamy. Come on Curbs sort it out and don't leave it to late.
