New Blackburn manager Paul Ince has reaffirmed his desire to keep David Bentley at Ewood Park.
Bentley has been linked with a big-money move away from Rovers this summer; however Ince is keen to retain the midfielder's services.
Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly interested in Bentley, but there has been no official confirmation of an approach from either club.
Reports in Thursday's press claim that Ince has met with Bentley over his future and, ahead of pre-season training, the former MK Dons boss has reiterated his plans to keep hold of the England international.
Ince told the Lancashire Telegraph: "We are obviously going to have to deal with a lot of speculation.
"But as far as I'm concerned, I want David here next season and I'm looking forward to seeing him on 7th July for pre-season training."
