Lionel Messi's father has claimed that his son hopes to play in Serie A at some point in the future.
Jorge Messi, who doubles as the Barcelona star's agent, will have alerted Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma with his shock revelation.
The Argentina playmaker is regarded as untouchable and his current club are likely to give any approach for his services short shrift.
However, with Barca currently in the process of rebuilding a squad which failed so dramatically last season, things could change for the 21-year-old at some point in the future.
"For the moment we are thinking of Barcelona, which is a second home for Leo, and he wants to make up for all his injury problems," Jorge Messi told Sportal.
"Having said that, clearly playing in Italy is the dream of every player, including my son.
"Seeing as nobody knows what will happen in the future, let us just say it is possible that sooner or later that dream can come true."
Inter have made no secret of their admiration for Messi in the past and club president Massimo Moratti will welcome the news that his dream signing could be within reach.
"Let's just say there has been no official contact with Inter," continued Messi's father.
"Nothing official. I prefer not to add anything else to that statement.
"As I said before, things could change in the future."
With Inter encountering difficulties in their pursuit of Porto's Ricardo Quaresma and Chelsea's Frank Lampard, recently installed coach Jose Mourinho may be tempted to switch his attentions to Messi.

food women and sunshine, wot are you a f%*&Ģing women yourself?? its football, played for a short part of a persons life. it's all about the best league best games and excitement, not get a manicure and a foot rub while eating paella??.the towns in england are at the forefront in terms of technology and they have high standards. they are civilized, and safer to live in than italy or spain . i fail to see how good wether can make you choose between a culture (in football terms) which is lazy in training and performance, corrupt and stagnant in terms of thier football seasons. i like Spanish football but compared to the way the game is run in england, its makes it look like a sunday league game.
epl sucks!!!
man u sucks!!!!!
Argentinians have a long standing tradition in Italian football, certainly more than in English football so why would a
south american go to play in England rather than Italy or Spain where their lifestyle will not suffer a huge shock as it would in the UK. And erkden before you talk such a rubbish I would like to remind you another diminutive player called Maradona that from Barcellona moved to Italy where he had a huge impact. Sunshine, food and women vs english money that what it comes down to in the end. London has its pluses but Manchester ?? or maybe you're thinking Newcastle ? lol
Lastly I would like to remind people that the fortunes of a league over another is cyclical, not long ago, Italy had two teams (Milan and Juventus) in the Champions League final, before that we had Real Madrid vs Valencia and recently Chelsea vs Man U, stop being so bias ! Anyway, I doubt strongly that Messi is going anywhere before his 25th birthday, this talk is very much in the future.
oh messi why not come to premiere league like MU that will suit ur football
