Gasol to play Eurobasket

Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol has confirmed he will join up with the Spain squad for the 2009 Eurobasket tournament.

"Pau Gasol has announced his decision to take part in the Eurobasket with the Spain team," the FEB said.

World champions Spain were runners-up to Russia in the last Eurobasket final in Madrid two years ago. This year's tournament is in Poland from September 7-20.
