Hamilton: No upgrades in Germany

Eurosport - Fri, 03 Jul 17:50:00 2009

British ace Lewis Hamilton said McLaren are not expecting any upgrades for the next race at the Nurburgring in Germany.

FORMULA 1 2009 Hamilton Silberpfeil - 0

Hamilton goes into the German Grand Prix - rotating back to the Nurburgring after it was held at Hockenheim last year - 11th in the World Championship, with the MP4-24 failing to match up to some of the other challengers, most notably the Brawn of compatriot Jenson Button.

He has finished 16th, 13th and 12th in his last three races.

"The last time we raced at the Nurburgring was in 2007, and I remember I had a tough afternoon battling through from the back of the field to finish just outside the points," he said.

"It's a fantastic circuit, a little older than a lot of the current tracks we currently visit and with quite a different feel to what we're used to: it's fast and flowing with some good spots for overtaking.

"And it's in a fantastic part of the world too; deep in the forests of western Germany, where the fans seem to live and breathe Formula One. It's always an amazing party atmosphere whenever we race in Germany.

"While we aren't expecting any major upgrades for this weekend, I'm still looking forward to the race.

"It's an honour to be part of the Silver Arrows and, while our results haven't recently shown it, we're still pushing incredibly hard and are all hopeful of moving closer to the front before the end of this difficult season."

The race will mark the end of the traditional mid-season three-week break for testing - although with in-season testing banned, none of the teams have been able to get on track.

Hamilton was runner-up to Kimi Raikkonen in the 2007 season but bounced back in 2008, pipping Felipe Massa to the title.

  1. Touronroute you are a bit like marnio, another free wireless seeking gypsy. Two years ago a few people on here got together and decided to take the one thing from Marnio that he could never get back, his time, since he decided to disrupt the main forum, and through some very clever posting, marnio is still here two years later, hooked like a fish on a line, the dialogue and attention he thinks he gets is just from the same clever source, so far they have taken nearly two years of his life from him, you don't want that to do you?

He has a special piece of software that records everyones identity when he right clicks his mouse and opens up "file". He can also send messages to people from his webcam in Australia. Please try to keep up with modern touron technology!

  3. touron, people just don't like you. Your not funny, you try to hard to impress, your to desperate, your not clever, you don't understand motor racing, you get your info from the most obvious sources, your impatient, your amateur, it's impossible to hold a conversation with you, your paranoid, perhaps have learning difficulties of something. Your abrasive, arrogant yet ignorant, basically everything people hate.

The worst, worst thing you do though is when you pretend that you have secret knowledge, there was always a kid at school who tried that one and used to exagerate and bluff, no doubt his attention seeking took him all the way and now he is in jail.

  4. Helen he is also trying to persuade us that he knows how many times a hidden post has been "unhidden" which of course he cannot do.

He really is pathetic, I feel sorry for him. If he realised what contempt people help him in then he would be very upset.

Many people have held out an olive branch to him but he is not interested.

  5. "now you tell me people have brains to cover an item up, only to open up to disclose whats inside."

Toutou, what you fail to realise is that people uncover youir posts, just so they can thumb them down to try and tell you something, that they do not want those types of posts.

Some will know from teh picture it is you and deliberately do that, others will read what you say and tyhumb down, the problem is because some people thumb down posts just because it says something they do not agree or made by a particular person rather than objectionable content,. we have to open all closed posts to ensrue it is not soemthing that we would have approved of.

There now Toutou that is the explanation, and sending your posts several times will not make them anymore likely to be agreed with it just means that they will all get thumbed down it they are objectionable

  14. SOOO... Mclaren were using ferrari technology all along, please explain how throughout the 80s and early 90s the Mclarens beat ferraris in both championships year after year? The thing that rankles all ferrari fans is that despite the best efforts of the FIA, Lewis Hamilton STILL ended up world champion, everyone knows about Raikkonen crashing into Sutil and getting away scot-free, what is little known, is that at the start, the finns wheels were not fitted within the 3 minute mark which would usually incur a penatly of starting at the back, but this being a ferrari, he got off with a drive through, in France he 'legally' drove around with a broken exhaust, Valencia Massa won with a 'legal' pitlane infraction, Belgium Hamilton had the nerve to be in front of 2 pursuin ferraris and cash-drunk stewards...if u recall 1999 Malaysian Grand Prix both ferraris were thrown out then miraculously reinstated come race day...back to last year and Bourdais overtook Massa who 'legally' crashed into him, it seems that not only are ferrari dodgy, but they are so bad at winning without Super-Schu they need outside assistance, without the FIA they are knowhere...sorry NOWHERE
