Chelsea have rejected a second offer from Manchester City for their captain John Terry.
The size of the offer made by City was not revealed in a statement from the Blues, however, the south-west London club sought to end any further interest saying they would "not entertain any conversation on the subject".
The news comes as the latest rebuff for City, who have already had a bid to sign Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o knocked back this summer. City made an offer for the 28-year-old defender last season when they encountered similar short shrift from the Blues, who this morning reiterated the England captain's desire to stay at Stamford Bridge.
"We can confirm we have completely rejected an offer from Manchester City for John Terry," a statement on the club's website read.
"It was made clear to City, for a second time following an approach last season, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject. At the time John also reiterated his total commitment to Chelsea.
"We would like to make it clear, and will not do so again, that John is not for sale."

he's very average anyway
Money cant buy everything..
ha 89 what have city won, Nothing and that all they will ever win chelsea are one of europes best man city is one of england mid table teams and the only chalenge he will get there is a relegation battle
john terry is the paolo maldini of chelsea
City know exactly what they are doing here with John Terry - basically City know that Terry is 'bored' at Chelsea and needs a new challenge to avoid becoming stale. He will not be Chelsea captain this season and can see that only City have the resources over the next few seasons to win the Champions League. He knows Chelsea have had their time , and as is the cycle of football , Chelsea and Arsenal will fail next season to make the top 4. Terry knows this , and City are testing his resolve. With Mourinho in the wings to take over in 12 months he knows City would be perfect , professionally and personally
69. Errr Lampard is not Chelsea. He's west ham and turned his back on them to sign for chelsea. Not the same as shearer a geordie for the mags and gerrard a scouser at liverpool. Terry is an average defender with a big mouth and he's an arrogant ****. Good riddance owen, he'll not be missed by us, no heart, no fight when needed, no shame. We'll be back. Howay the lads!
Owen is a desperate little man going to them did he forget he played for LFC he should hang his head in shame as
For fergie the sooner he retires the better
We would like to make it clear, and will not do so again, that John Terry(our Captain)is not for sale."Try other defenders please.from chigo
JT is Chelsea Blue through and through - sorry City but it's not gonna happen. How about trying to sign the Williams sisters, with them powering your midfield you might have a chance of winning something. All the best MCFC for the coming season especially against ManUre.
68 rumour has it the offer was 90mil !!
paul f, never
66 you are right ,as he was aflop for the last season !
micheal is a roaster
I think man city have alot to prove before they can buy certain players..no disrespct to city fans but certain players would not dream of playing in city, because city havent proven anything to them yet..they need to build a proper team, a team that can win trophies and compete on the big stages, thats the problem.. i wouldnt say man city are a rubbish team.. have some good players like ireland.. and robinho when he feels like playing... but thats not enough.. not with certain players expectations.
Money is not really enough at the moment... use that money usefully and build a decent trophy winning side, not try a fast move by trying to buy kaka, ronaldinho, eto and the likes, i dont think thats the way.. thats a very short term thinking mentality that the owners are obviously promoting.
How many utd fans are on here now that have played Championship manager this year! though owen was still the treat he once was and thinks fergy has got it spot on! there is a reason only hull and stoke wanted him ha ha ha, as for mexes! another CM fan! he is a great defender on the game but f**k me! if he is the best defender you can pick out with the money hughes has your ambition isn't matching the position you want to finnish! unless it's 8th on 9th lol.....
hahaha.. city got a daydreaming.... hahhaahaa...
City not SACKS...
City not SECKS...
City not SICKS...
City not SOCKS...
But City S*CKS!!
Chelsea will remain the best team and this season will let then belive it not because of the diorganisation at manu but because we will start organised not coaches living us in the middle of the season. the Blues 4ever. Jonas Zambia
if owen dosent have his leg broken again he will scor for Man U BIG TIME..in all the low levl games!!
Has eltosso gone to sign on or something? Or is he watching his Charlton and Best videos
comment 47, mexes? the same mexes that conceded 7 goals against utd? the same player who gets sent off a few times a season because he lacks the pace that most central defenders in the prem have? mexes isn't a good option mate! world football have some very good defenders but he is not one of them!
