Scottish Premier League - PSV to consider Vennegoor

Eurosport - Fri, 03 Jul 11:21:00 2009

PSV Eindhoven are set to discuss the possibility of signing Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink after the former Holland striker was released by Celtic.

PSV have previously denied any interest in the 30-year-old, with technical director Adrie van Kraaij describing such speculation as "nonsense".

But after being informed of Celtic's decision to let the player go, Van Kraaij admitted the prospect of a free transfer could yet entice the club to make a move.

"Is he really allowed to leave Celtic as a free agent? That's news to me," Van Kraaij told Dutch newspaper Spits.

"Those stories that we were interested earlier on were nonsense. But now I will start talks internally, like we always do.

"Apart from that I won't give any comments."

  2. Point 3! Actually Holland is pretty much half and half, so stop referring to a time long ago when it was ran by a fat athsmatic, rent boy loving king!

  3. 2 - Actually, a bus driver's licence is now called a PCV licence. PSV in the team's name means Philips Sport Vereniging. They are financed by the large Dutch electrical and electronics company, Philips NV.
