Busy Clarets

Burnley manager Owen Coyle has arranged nine friendlies in the space of four weeks in the hope his side will be ready for the demands of the Barclays Premier League.

The Clarets begin their preparations in earnest at Bradford a week on Saturday, with a two-match mini tour of America included in their warm-up programme.

Coyle said: "That's the way we like it. We love football and love working hard.

"We have that work ethic at the club, each and every one of us. That is important, and we hope it will be bear fruit.

"When we go and play in the Barclays Premier League we want to make sure we give performances that bring us points."

Burnley begin their first top-flight campaign at Stoke on August 15, quickly followed by a home fixture against Manchester United.
