Chelsea have rejected a second offer from Manchester City for captain John Terry.
The size of the offer made by City was not revealed in a statement from the Blues on Friday morning, however, the south-west London club sought to end any further interest saying they would "not entertain any conversation on the subject".
"We can confirm we have completely rejected an offer from Manchester City for John Terry," a statement on the club's website read.
The news comes as the latest rebuff for City, who have already had a bid to sign Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o knocked back this summer.
City made an offer for the 28-year-old defender last season when they encountered similar short shrift from the Blues, who this morning reiterated the England captain's desire to stay at Stamford Bridge.
"It was made clear to City, for a second time following an approach last season, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject," continued the statement.
"At the time John also reiterated his total commitment to Chelsea. We would like to make it clear, and will not do so again, that John is not for sale."
Meanwhile, Chelsea have boosted their goalkeeping numbers by signing Middlesbrough stopper Ross Turnbull and agreeing a new contract with Hilario.
Turnbull, 24, was out of contract at Middlesbrough and has been confirmed as a free signing on a four-year deal.
Reserve keeper Hilario, 33, has also signed a new two-year contract which will run until 2011.

Nice one trevor, totally agree... these so-called "fans" should crawl back under their stone if they haven't got anything constructive to say.
EDWARD WHEN CHELSEA WERE SPLASHIN THE CASH THERE WASNT A BIG DEAL NOW THAT CITY R LOOKIN FOR TERRY PEOPLE COMPLAININ THEY HAVE TOO MUCH MONEY A LOAD OF BOLL**
i JUST WISH THAT MAN CITY WOULD STOP THESE POWER GAMES WITH REGARD TO DOING WHAT REAL MADRID ARE DOING THIS SUMMER JUST BUYING UP PLAYERS FOR THE SAKE OF IT JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE MONEY TO BURN MAN CITY YET AGAIN WILL STILL BE OUT OF THE PICTURE THIS YEAR TOO MANY PRIMA DONNA'S IN THE TEAM ITS REALLY TARNISHING THE GAME ALL THESE HIGHLY INFLATED PRICES AS FOR ETO' AND HIS DEMANDS WELL WHAT A GREEDY PRAT STAY IN BARCELONA MATE OUR ENGLISH GAMES DOES NOT NEED YOU AND YOUR OVER INFLATED EGO BUT THIS STATEMENT GOES FOR MOST OF THESE OVER SEAS PLAYERS SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO STOP THIS NOW!
why would these players want to go to City anyway??? no class, no success (unless you include division 2 champions!!), no atmosphere.....
Yeah, Hughes is more likely to go for Warnock or Lucas Neill.
£200 million spent and Hughes is taking about top half of the premiership and competing for a cup.
THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH
If Roy Hogson spent £200 million and stated he is looking for improvement on last year he would be sacked for taking the $iss.
Hughes is taking the $iss
when will city learn,,, ???????
i kind of feel sorry for hughes. lets face it, its not him going in for these players...
