Motherwell manager Jim Gannon is hopeful of bringing in new players in the next seven days - but they will not be available to turn around the Europa League qualifier against Llanelli.
Gannon endured the worst possible start to his reign as Motherwell fell 1-0 in the home leg of their first qualifying-round clash at Airdrie.
He made his first signing before the game with the capture of Tranmere midfielder Steven Jennings, but the deal was not done in time to register the Merseysider for either leg.
Any other player who joins Motherwell's threadbare squad, which is set to lose its ninth first-team member this summer when Paul Quinn completes a move to Cardiff, will be unable to face Llanelli at the Parc y Scarlets next Thursday.
Gannon said: "I'm looking forward to working with these boys and adding and supplementing and looking for progress, and there is certainly progress to come. I like to think we will supplement the squad over the next couple of weeks. There is no rush at this stage.
"A lot of players are mulling over their situation, a lot of managers are mulling over the players' situations at their respective clubs, whether they be permanent transfers or loans. We respect that. I like to think we would have players in before the next opportunity to play, if we were in the second round. But there is no rush."
