Hibernian manager John Hughes has challenged the club's strikers to show they can fill the void left by Steven Fletcher's £3million move to Burnley.
Fletcher scored 37 goals in three seasons for Hibs before leaving for the Barclays Premier League earlier this week.
The Scotland striker's departure will put the onus on Derek Riordan, Colin Nish and Jonatan Johansson to provide the goals at Easter Road and Hughes has urged those players to show he does not need to sign a replacement.
Hughes told the club`s official website: "I'm disappointed of course that I did not get to work with him, but Steven was in during the week and we wished him all the best. He was in to say his goodbyes and you could see there was a tear in his eye.
"He had, I think, a good time at Hibernian, and you also have to acknowledge the work of those who brought him through, who coached him and helped in his development over the years.
"We'll miss him, so there is a gap there. Do I have to fill that gap or is someone who is already here going to say `I'll take a bit of that'? We'll see. It's one thing talking about it. I've come across plenty of players who talk a great game but when they get out onto that pitch it's a different situation."

The fact that we only have one goalkeeper that is good enough to to play SPL football next season explains how top players dont want to be the best of the rest. The sooner teams like Hibs stop selleing all the top players only to sign them back a few seasons later the better. Come on Yogi you can do it son, keep all the young talent at easter road and the future will be better. Those 2 so called giants in Glasgow have debts that will see them going out of business sooner rather than later if they cant win anything in europe so its up to the other 10 teams to represent the scottish game and bring it forward to be a better league that top players will be willing to play in.
you lot are a joke hibs will be in the top 6 and louise get back to the kitchen you silly little scrubber we will do our talking on the pitch come back next season and tell me yogi has failed love to you all even the yam rejects who are still paying players up 1 at a time
Wow! £3 million. What's Yogi gonna do with that other than give it straight to the men up stairs ? Please give it to Yogi and let him bring a little glory to a rainy leith! Bring the sunshine back ! If we ever had any lol ! More signings please!!!!!!!
for all the bile about havin money and the promises of money to a new maneger, all we have seen is second rate signing NO money spent and selling fletch. this is negitive news with sign of it gettin better "espically with maccalamity being told he is hibs no1". this should be a stand up comidy show on the frindge.
michael jackson is going to be buried in the scottish cups never never land, hibs officals said come early to garentee a seat as easter road doesent hold many people.
ha hibs will continue to sign Falkirk rejects, players who are losers and bairly stayed in the SPL. I agree good signings to help Hibs with the fight at the bottom of the league next season. Absolutely no chance of challenging for europe as they will have an even weaker squad than last season. This all being down to hibs being losers and happy to bend over and lose all their half decent players and keeping the dross. What a wee shame, ha ha ha ha lets all have a laugh at the Hibees. What joy is there in creating half decent players but your never win jack.
yogi take your time you have made 3 great signings without spending you have £3m pend wise and spend it because if you dont next season they will cut it again a the best big man Y.L.T
