Crewe have accepted a bid from Scunthorpe for midfielder Michael O'Connor.

The Northern Ireland international will now undergo a medical and discuss peronal terms with the Championship club.

"We have agreed a deal with Scunthorpe and they have permission to speak to him," Alex boss Gudjon Thordarson told the club's official website.

"It is an undisclosed fee at this stage and some of the deal is based on appearances.

"It is good business for the club because Michael has made it known that he wishes to go and I fully understand his decision when a Championship club has come in for him."
