Ranson reassures Coleman

Fri 03 Jul, 04:02 PM

Coventry manager Chris Coleman remains optimistic of bolstering his ranks following a meeting with chairman Ray Ranson.

The Sky Blues are yet to welcome any new faces to the Ricoh Arena this summer, with several players departing the club, including captain Scott Dann, but while the lack of arrivals has worried some fans, Coleman is remaining calm after being told work is going on behind the scenes to capture his transfer targets.

He told the Coventry Telegraph: "The chairman has spoken with some members of Sisu and then I had a good meeting with him and he was very reassuring. We are talking with a couple of players, obviously through their clubs, and I have been speaking to another manager about a couple of players, so it is not for a want of not trying.

"The most important thing for me this week was to hear from the chairman say that we are still doing the same things and trying to sign the same players, and that's reassuring because we have got a bit of money in the kitty.

"We didn't want to lose Scott Dann but we got a good deal. I just hope it doesn't happen with any more of our best players, but the problem in football is you don't know what's round the corner."

  2. 3.If we get him [Henderson from Sunderland] "On loan again"
I'll bet a pound to a pinch of poo, that R.R. classes him as a "NEW" signing

  3. 4.What you don't seem to realise Mr. Ranson is.......
You are playing GOD with not only MY TEAM of the last 50 years but every other Sky Blue fan.
I've followed the City from the OLD third division days to the present.
I've seen the lows and the high of football in the great City of Coventry.
For the first time in the last ten years I actually fear for the existence of this Great Club.
If we do get relegated to what was the old third division I will have seen the FULL CIRCLE.
I truly believe if this happens the Club will cease to exist.
So I say to you "SHIP UP OR SHIP OUT Mr. RANSON"
