West Brom manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed that the Baggies' bid to sign Bolton defender Abdoulaye Meite is "dead in the water".Wanderers were thought to be interested in a swap deal for the centre-back, with reports linking Jonathan Greening and Paul Robinson with the Reebok Stadium.
However, Mowbray said: "We made an enquiry for the player but we couldn't reach an agreement so we move on. I would suggest it is dead in the water.
"My philosophy when you've got an interest in a player is that you know what your value of that footballer is. If it can't be done, it can't be done, and you move on."

This says more about Gary Megson than anything else, for me. Overpricing a player he doesn't want to try and force Mowbs' hand on a player who is absolutely key to the Baggies in Greening?
You ginger @#$%, Megson - another ex-Baggie who's come out in his true colours.
a lot more better players?????????
Well done Tony. There are alot more better players out there and Meite aint worth the money Bolton wanted, Jonno is a far more valuable player than him, so as for a swap!!!! You must be having a laugh!!!
Lets just hope that Robbo can sign another contract and get on with trying to stay in the prem?
